Credit
Is Credit Your Nemesis?
Like it or not, credit is a way of life. And a lot is riding on your credit score. The sad part is, a lot of people don't realize that until it's too late. Your credit record usually begins with credit cards. Getting a credit card is really a good way to begin building a credit history. Otherwise, you really don't have a credit record. You might be able to get a car without a credit history, but you'll need a cosigner, and you probably won't get any breaks in interest rate. But if you have been using a credit card and paid it off in full each month or didn't run up a huge bill only to pay the required minimum, you'll be doing yourself a favor. In this instance, having a credit card or two can be a good thing. But like alcohol, gambling or chocolate, it can become an addiction. And most addictions lead to trouble.
Credit card addictions are bad because they can effect your credit. And a bad credit report can keep you from getting a car, a house...even a job! Sometimes you can't even rent an apartment if your credit is bad. But the worst part of a credit card addiction is the ability to rack up a lot of debt that you just can't pay. You enjoy living beyond your means, but when it's time to pay the piper, you fall short. It's then that you realize you might need help getting your debt under control. Fortunately these days, that's easier to do than ever because of the many debt management programs that are out there. If you have a lot of debt and you feel it's out of control, find the debt management program that's best for you so you can join the thousands before you who have done the same thing. Then you can say, with confidence, "I Used to Be In Debt."
